As coaching progresses, many leaders in organisations want to learn some coaching skills for themselves as they have experienced the power of it themselves! They see the potential of coaching conversations to improve relationships in their teams to bring about change in an empowering way.

Ann Collins provides training and ongoing support for leaders on how to use a coaching approach. Through focussing on listening skills, rapport building, using questions effectively and providing support and accountability, leaders are able to apply the basic pillars of a coaching conversation very effectively. This gives leaders more confidence to lean into difficult situations and to develop the talent in their teams.

How it works: In-house Coaching Programmes

After meeting to define the long and short term objectives of leadership development within your organisation, Ann plans your in-house coaching programmes with senior leaders and/or HR Directors. This is a key part of the process and we take time to ensure that objectives, outcomes and the scope are clear.

The project typically involves a long term programme of team or group workshops, shorter follow up sessions, individual coaching sessions and additional facilitated sessions, where necessary.

The programme evolves as sessions go forward and are continually adapted to suit the needs of leaders and their teams.

Group or team coaching sessions are interactive and lively, using a range of:

  • practical activities and case studies based on participants’ experiences

  • examples from organisations leading in a particular area of leadership development

  • structured discussion and multisensory learning

  • mini-self assessments online (quick and easy)

  • probing questions to reflect on, debate and decide on action

  • opportunities to agree future action at an individual and team level

Between sessions, there are built-in opportunities to evaluate, debrief and plan together with leaders and/or HR to ensure that we are getting the most out of each session and adapting to changing circumstances within the organisation and at an individual team level.
